π·οΈ Tavern, Shop & Guild Names
Ten names a roll. Click a name to copy it, or β to keep it for later.
π Kept names (0)
Kept names stay in this browser, so a refresh won't lose them, and they never leave your device.
The address bar holds the roll's dice seed: π Copy Link shares the same ten names, and Back returns to the previous roll. Shop names come from the same tables as Merchant's Row.
πΊ Tavern & Inn
A whole tavern in one roll: what kind of place it is and where, the sign and its history, the owner, the staff, and the regulars, the menu and the rooms, a quirk, a house rule, a game, trouble brewing, and a rumor from the bar.
Quality follows the lifestyle levels of the System Reference Document 5.1 (CC-BY 4.0), and so do the prices of ale, wine, bread, cheese, meat, banquets, a day's meals, a night's stay, and stabling. House dishes, drinks, and baths are the Gazette's, priced to match.
Rumors come from the same deck as the Tavern, so you won't hear one twice until the deck runs out. The address bar holds the tavern and its rumor, so π Copy Link shares both. A new quality keeps the same owner, staff, regulars, and sign; the kind of place, the menu, the rooms, and the stakes follow the quality.
π Side Quest
A job for the party in one roll: who's asking and why, where it happens and what's there, where to start, what's in the way, the twist, what happens if the party fails, the deadline, the pay, and sometimes a fight to go with it.
The quest tables are the Gazette's own. Rewards are a house rule that grows with the party's level and size (the SRD has no table for them). The foe comes from the SRD 5.1 monsters, chosen to suit the place and rated like the Encounter tab, and πΉ Open in Encounter takes it there to adjust or send to initiative.
The address bar holds the quest, so π Copy Link shares it. A new level or party size keeps the same quest and rescales the reward and the foe; a new job keeps the same quest giver.
πΊοΈ Weather & Travel Day
Pick the land and the season, then take the road one day at a time: the land and the weather, what happens on the way, how far the party gets, where they camp, and what the sky says about tomorrow.
π The road so far
Distances follow the travel pace rules of the System Reference Document 5.1 (CC-BY 4.0): pace, difficult terrain, forced marches, and galloping. Hours on the road after sunset use its vision and light rules (a full moon in a clear sky gives dim light). Daylight hours and the moon are the Gazette's rough reckoning. Effects marked ruling are the Gazette's suggestions, not official rules.
Journey length 0 means an open road with no destination. The address bar holds the journey's seed and the day, so π Copy Link shares the whole trip so far, and Back steps to the day before. Changing the pace or hours keeps the weather.
π² Dice Roller
Type a roll or tap a die. Rolls go in the history below, newest first.

Formulas: 2d6+3, d20-1, d% (a d100), 4d6kh3 (keep the highest 3), 2d20kl1 (keep the lowest), 8d6dl2 (drop the lowest 2), and any mix like 1d8+2d6+4. Advantage and disadvantage roll the first single d20 twice. Dropped dice show in (parentheses).
The history (last 50 rolls) stays in this browser and is shared with the floating π² button. Click a past roll to roll it again.
πΉ Encounter Builder
Set up the party, add monsters, and see how hard the fight is. When it looks right, send it to the Initiative tab.

π Monsters
Difficulty uses the XP Budget per Character table from the System Reference Document 5.2 (CC-BY 4.0): each character adds their level's Low, Moderate, and High numbers, and the monsters' XP is spent against them. The warnings under the meter are the Gazette's advice. Monsters and their CR, XP, AC, HP, and Dex come from the System Reference Document 5.1 (CC-BY 4.0).
Rolled encounters never use a monster above the party's level and stop at two creatures per character. Most rolls keep to one group of foes that belong together (goblins with their wolves, a cult with its imps), and the habitat picker keeps the leader to monsters that live there. Every fight gets a scene: where it happens, what the foes are doing, who notices whom, distance, light, the ground, a leader, tactics, morale, a price to parley, and sometimes a twist. Hazard DCs and damage follow the party's level (damage from the SRD 5.1 Damage Severity by Level table); the habitats, groups, and scenes are the Gazette's own. π² New Scene redraws it without touching the monsters. The address bar holds the party and the monsters, so π Copy Link shares the fight. Send to Initiative rolls each monster's initiative with its Dex modifier.
βοΈ Initiative Tracker
Add everyone in the fight, then step through the turns. It survives a refresh.
Leave Initiative blank to roll d20 + bonus. Several of the same creature are numbered (Goblin 1, Goblin 2β¦) and roll separately.
No one in the fight yet. Add the party and the monsters above.
The tracker stays in this browser, so a refresh or a closed tab won't lose the fight, and it never leaves your device.
Order: highest initiative first; ties go to the higher bonus. Type a number in a creature's HP box and press β to damage or + to heal. Conditions are the SRD 5.1 list (CC-BY 4.0).
πͺ Party Coin Splitter
Count the coins, add what the gems and art will sell for, and split it evenly. Shares come out in gold, silver, and copper.
Coin values follow the System Reference Document 5.1 (CC-BY 4.0): 1 pp = 10 gp, 1 gp = 2 ep = 10 sp = 100 cp. Shares are exact to the copper; the few coppers that won't split evenly go to one party member, picked by the dice.
Names set the party size. The address bar holds the split, so π Copy Link shares it, and the πͺ Split buttons on the Loot and Session Kit pages open it prefilled.
π‘ Downtime Tracker
How long is the break between adventures? Pick each character's lifestyle and what they do with the time, and see what it costs in gold, silver, and copper, plus where they stay and what happens each week.
Lifestyle costs and the crafting, working, researching, and recuperating rules follow the System Reference Document 5.1 (CC-BY 4.0). Lines tagged ruling fill gaps the SRD leaves; carousing, training, and gambling are Gazette house rules with our own tables, and so are the weekly events (turn them off with Week by week).
The party stays in this browser, and the address bar holds it too, so π Copy Link shares it (opening a shared link replaces the party saved here). Up to 8 characters and a year of downtime.
