๐Ÿฒ Monster Maker

"It's a goblin. But angrier. And on fire."

Build a homebrew monster, or start from any SRD monster and tweak it. The stat block writes itself as you go, with an automatic challenge rating estimate and every step of its working shown. Save it to your campaign notebook, then drop it into an encounter or the initiative tracker.

๐Ÿ“› What it is

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Armor and hit points

๐Ÿ‘ฃ Speed in feet; 0 leaves it out

๐Ÿ’ช Ability scores tick a box for a saving throw it's proficient in

๐ŸŽฏ Skills bonus = modifier + proficiency (twice it for expertise)

๐Ÿ”ฅ Damage and conditions

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Senses and languages passive Perception follows the Perception skill

โš–๏ธ Challenge

The estimate reads damage, attack bonus, and save DC from the actions (shown greyed in the boxes). Type a number to use yours instead, say when spells or a trait add damage it can't see. Leave the challenge rating on Auto to use the estimate, or pick one to set it yourself.

๐Ÿ““ Your Homebrew

Monsters you save go in your campaign notebook and show up here, in the Toolbox's encounter builder (type ๐Ÿฒ Homebrew), and in its initiative tracker.

Monsters you start from are the System Reference Document 5.1's, by Wizards of the Coast LLC, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. The challenge rating estimate is the usual monster-by-the-numbers method (defensive and offensive CR, averaged); it's a starting point, so trust your table over the arithmetic.
The monster you're working on and the ones you save stay in this browser only (saved ones are in the ๐Ÿ““ notebook; ๐Ÿ’พ back up everything). A ๐Ÿ”— link carries the whole monster, so anyone can open it.
