βοΈ Encounter List
Monster stat blocks are from the System Reference Document 5.1 by Wizards of the Coast LLC, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Habitats are the Gazette's own, the same ones the Toolbox's encounter builder rolls from.
The encounter list is kept in this browser only (πΎ back up everything). "Open in Encounter Builder" replaces the builder's monsters; "Add All to Initiative" adds them to the fight already in the tracker.
How to use the Bestiary
All 334 monsters of the SRD 5.1, from the awakened shrub to the tarrasque. Filter by challenge rating, type, size, and habitat, sort by CR, hit points, or Armor Class, and open any monster for its full stat block. Add monsters to the encounter list and it keeps a running count of monsters and experience points.
At the table
- The level 3 party heads into the swamp. Set the habitat to swamp and the challenge to 1/4 through 2, and pick from what's left.
- A player asks what a ghoul's claws do to them. Search "ghoul" and read the block before the paralysis wears off.
- Gather a fight on the encounter list, then send it to the Encounter Builder to check how deadly it is, or straight to the initiative tracker.
- The party has seen too many ogres. Open one in the Monster Maker, rename it, and change what it does.
Works with
Monsters go to the Toolbox's Encounter Builder and Initiative tracker, and into the Monster Maker to be changed. Stat blocks can also sit on your DM Screen, and the Spellbook has the spells the casters cast.
