Prices follow the Realm Market Exchange and move every 15 minutes, so the same shop costs a little more or less later in the session. The current shop is kept in this browser so a refresh won't lose it, and it never leaves your device. ๐พ Back up everything to keep it safe.
The address bar holds the shop's dice seed: ๐ Copy Link shares the same shop and stock (at the prices of the moment, haggle not included), and Back returns to the previous shop.
How the Shop Generator works
Pick a shop type and how well business is going, or leave both on ๐ฒ. There are fifteen kinds of shop, from the General Store and the Blacksmith & Armorer to the Arcane Emporium, the Curio & Pawn, and the Ship Chandler. Every roll names the shop and puts a keeper behind the counter, with looks, a voice, a trait, a flaw, and a secret, plus what the shop offers, what it buys, what's on sale, and a job if the party thinks to ask. Stock is priced from the Realm Market Exchange. A Humble shop carries less and charges under list price; a Prosperous one carries the expensive things and charges a quarter over.
At the table
- The party walks into a town you didn't prep. Roll the shop they asked for and read the greeting out loud while you skim the keeper's secret.
- A player wants a discount. Type in their Persuasion bonus and roll: d20 against the shopkeeper's Wisdom, one try per shop. A good roll knocks the prices down, and a bad one puts them up.
- ๐ Price List Handout turns the stock into a sheet the players can squabble over, so you stop reading prices aloud.
- ๐ Copy Link saves the exact shop for next session, when the rogue comes back to fence the necklace.
Works with
The Market Exchange sets the prices, the NPC Generator rolls the rest of the town, the Loot Generator fills the party's purse first, and the Session Kit rolls a shop together with a rumor, a stranger, and the day's news.
