🧰 DM Toolbox D&D Random Table Roller

"A good DM improvises. A great DM has a list."

Make your own roll tables: paste a list, a table with die ranges, or a markdown table, and roll it as often as you like.

πŸ—‚οΈ Random Tables

Make your own roll tables: paste a list, one entry per line, or a table with die ranges. An entry can roll another of your tables with [[Table name]] and roll dice with {2d4}.

πŸ—‚οΈ Your Tables (0)

No tables yet. Make one, or add the examples to see how they work.

Writing a table: one entry per line, and the number of lines sets the die (6 lines roll a d6), or pick a die and the entries share it out as evenly as it goes. For uneven odds, start each line with a range: 1-3 | text, | 4 | text | (a markdown table, header row and all), or 5. text; 00 counts as 100. [[Table name]] rolls one of your tables inside the entry (up to 10 deep), and {2d4}, {1d6+2}, or {4d6kh3} rolls dice the way the Dice tab does.
The tables stay in this browser, so a refresh or a closed tab won't lose them, and they never leave your device. πŸ’Ύ Back up everything to keep them safe. Changes save as you type.
πŸ”— Share Link puts the table, and the tables it rolls, into the link itself, so it works without a server. Whoever opens it can roll it and choose to save it; nothing is saved until they do.

How the Random Table Roller works

Name a table and paste the entries, one per line. The number of lines sets the die, so six lines roll a d6, or pick a die and the entries share it out. For uneven odds, start a line with a range like 1-3 or use a markdown table with a header row; 00 counts as 100. An entry can roll another of your tables with [[Table name]], up to ten deep, and roll dice with {2d4} or {1d6+2}. Roll once, three, five, or ten times. πŸ“š Add Examples loads a few to start from, and πŸ”— Share Link sends a table to someone else without an account.

Dice in your tables roll the same way as the Dice Roller. For tables we've already written, the Loot Generator rolls SRD treasure, the Tavern Rumor Generator deals rumors, and the Session Kit rolls a whole evening's worth at once.
